The East and South East London Pathology Partnership on BMS day 2024
Biomedical Science Day (BMS Day) is an IBMS supported event which aims to raise the profile of Pathology and the people who work in it, this year it took place on Thursday June 6th. The East and South East London Pathology Partnersheip staff took place in events across the Partnership.
Staff from a range of laboratories at Royal London Hospital set up a series of displays in the hospital foyer highlighting the work of departments within the Partnership. This gave Pathology Partnership staff the opportunity to interact with fellow Trust colleagues, patients, local college students and even a visiting group of health professionals from Western Australia.
In the afternoon they were joined, in the Education Academy, by other Pathology colleagues, and representatives from Queen Mary University London and London South Bank University to present a series of talks to local college students. Not only did this inform young people about our work but also gave some of our staff the experience of talking in public for the first time.
Displays were also set up at sites across the Pathology Partnership giving details of the work carried out pathology at our Essential Services Laboratory sites, especially in relation to the Blood Transfusion service we supply.
The Pathology Partnership would like to thank all of those who took part in and supported Biomedical Science Day.
